Dear Gran,
It was hard to only see you laying in your coffin after not remembering your face for more than 10 years. No matter how hard i tried to keep my tears from falling, they fell anyway. I never knew, in all this time, you'd be taken away before I reconnected with you. There are so many things I wanted to share with you. So many laughs I wanted to laugh with you. So many stories... And now they are fading, fading, gone. All I have no is a picture in a frame, and a memory of how peaceful you looked when we said goodbye. It's hard knowing i'll never hear you speak, laugh, cough, all those little things you used to do. It's all hidden in a little compartment in my memory labelled "Ouma". The view of the mountain from your bed, the warmth of your room, even now that you not there, you'll never be forgotten.

Thank you for what you meant for everyone. Thank you that I could reconnect with the rest of my family. Thank you for bringing us all together. Seems i cannot part from them, they are already a great part of my life. And i never want to lose them again.

I love you Ouma. Forever missed, forever loved.

Can't believe you gone. Rest In Peace

Good bye

There comes a time in ones life when one has to do the unthinkingable. Saying goodbye to someone close to you, someone you loved, even someone you never saw in 10+ years. But just the thought of never speaking to that person again, never seeing them smile, laugh, never touching their hand again. It's scary. And sad. And we all a bit emotional because this person touched our hearts. Be it a parent, a sibling, a friend or an acquintance. Just the thought of never speaking, or calling that person again. Whether you knew sooner or later they cannot keep fighting the disease they have, whether it was an accident that happened so fast, no one knew it was going to end like this. Nothing prepares one for death. NOTHING.

It goes without saying that one should not be afraid of death. it's not death we afraid of. It's how death will be approching us. God knows how, where and when. Don't question Him. Be glad for the good, bad, happy and sad times you had together. And remember that God is calling all His children back home. Where we belong.

Cry, be angry. Get totally quiet when you remember that person is no longer with you. But remember. You will meet with them again. Soon.

:-)

Realising...

There comes a time in ones life when one has to realise who really matters in your life. Who makes it 'worth it' if i may say so. Who will be through happiness and sadness, laughter and crying. Who adds value to who you are. Its all up to you. Decide who you feel makes you smile, makes you feel better, listens even when they dont have answers. Just being there. If you know that person is of no contribution, its time you make that decision. Continue pretending, or move onto better things.
Not sure if this even made sense, but its what came to mind that i wrote.
Much love

What is love?

Love is said to be Patient, Kind, not Jealous, Boastful or Proud, nor Rude. Love does not demand its own way. Love is not irritable, and it keeps no record of when it has been wronged. Yet, we still see people angry, miserable, etc. It is the strong affection you feel towards someone, knowing that you can BOTH be happy in the relationship.

Love is something you cannot explain. Love is standing in the rain cuddling and hugging, love is sitting in a 37° car waiting for your partner at the doctors, or a dancing lesson, love is understanding exactly what is going through each others minds, without saying a word.

We all know the quote: you know its love when all you want is that person to be happy, even if you're not part of their happiness... ? I say screw it! That is not love, i dont know what it is called, but it is not love. What about your happiness? Your heartache? Your love? Love is a two-way street, 100% each, not 50%-50%.

Think about it, you give 50% and your partner 50%, it cancels out, so whats the use in persuring a relationship? Its 100% or nothing at all.

Make sure he/she makes you smile when they enter a room, makes you cry because of the affection they show, ans simply just being what no other person can be. Because at the end of the day, if that person is not happy, the love you two share will be thrown away.

So next time you get told "I love you" make sure its for real!

WHAT VALENTINES DAY HAS BECOME

So we all know Valentine’s Day is just around the corner. Honestly, people forgot the reason we celebrate it and just uses it as another marketing strategy!

It is known an annual commemoration held on February 14, celebrating love and affection between intimate companions. The day is named after one or more early Christian martyrs named Valentine, established by Pope Gelasius I in 500 AD. It is traditionally a day on which lovers -well i wouldn’t use the word lovers- express their love for each other by presenting flowers, offering confectionery, and sending greeting cards (known as “valentines”). Whereas modern Valentine’s Day symbols include the heart-shaped outline, doves, and the figure of the winged Cupid. Since the 19th century, handwritten valentines have given way to mass-produced greeting cards.

To me Valentines day should be celebrated every day. Not just one day in the year which makes it extraordinary. You supposed to show love all day long.

So do yourself a favour, this year, don’t go out buying flowers, card, chocolate. Instead, handmake a card, buy melting chocolate and shaped molds, make chocolate hearts, flowers, etc. Pick some flowers, do something special to make it extra special than any other day it would be!
